What’s a manifesto, and why do Christian coaches need one? Building a coaching business is hard. Really hard. But… it will change lives. Your life. And the lives of those you coach.
Thus, on this difficult and rewarding journey we need to plan, prepare, and most of all, commit.
A manifesto is a public declaration of our intentions and a reminder of our motivation. It puts our toe over the line in the sand, and says, by God’s grace, I can, and I will do this thing.
I will build a coaching business and partner with God to change the world.
Will you join me?

It’s Your Turn
Today. Just for this one day. Will you accept His call to work on your coaching business knowing that it really matters? Please add your “yes” to the comment section below.

Yes, absolutely!!
I LOVE your manifesto. Everything in it is exactly what I have saying to myself in trying to build my coaching practice. One more tweak, maybe a different niche, who is my target market. Obsessing. Thank you for reminding me what is important here and what He thinks about my wanting to help heal others.
You are so welcome, Jane. I’m glad it resonated, and I’m praying that having awareness will help all of us “keep on keeping on” in this important calling.
Yes, yes, and yes.
🙂
Yes!! Thank you for your inspiring words and care!
Thank you for taking time to encourage!
Kim this is wonderful!! Thank you so much for creatively putting to words what so many Christian coaches, seasoned or brand new, are feeling. Doubt falls like a wet blanket and snuffs out the spark of truth we hear in the quiet places. Your manifesto needs to be seen and internalized by everyone who has been uniquely called to this honored profession. Thank you for sparking me all over again today!
Beautifully said, Kathy!
Perfect timing! No one signed up for my latest group offer. Feeling discouraged.
My answer is YES! I accept His call afresh today. He has given me His message. His call. He has given me a platform. He knows my heart to serve. To encourage. To build up. What I am called to do matters. I matter to Him. And the results are again today placed in His hands. To do with my call…my business…however He sees best!
Now, I am choosing to BREATHE. BREATHE OUT discouragement and BREATHE IN the HOLY SPIRIT!
Good for you. Jesus sees, He cares, and He is pleased with Pam – that’s the important thing!
A few years after getting certified as a Christian Life Coach, I took that preparation off the shelf, dusted it off, and committed to being a vessel fit for the Master’s use.
Thanks Kim!
Congratulations, Esi. That’s a big step, and I am so glad you are joining us.
Kim, this is beautiful! So much truth here. Thank you for creating this and sharing your message. Thanks for all you do for Christian coaches!
Oops – in my gratefulness, I forgot to say “yes.” Yes, I’m with you, Kim!
Thanks for your gracious thoughts, Linda, and your hearty ‘yes.’ We are all in this together!
Bravo, Kim. Beautifully done!
You’ve encouraged me and lit a light in my heart for our work.
This little light of mine, Kim? I’m gonna let it shine!
Thanks so much.
It already shines, Carolyn :).
Yes! Thank you, Kim, for encouraging and inspiring!
Yay, Deborah! I’m so glad you are along for the ride :).
Kim,
Yes!
This reminds me why I regularly read your posts. Full of great quote-worthy statements! Great reminder that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing, and that his sacrifice is evidence that I matter!
So thanks for your motivation and inspirational words!
Thanks, Jay. It’s really all about Jesus, isn’t it? When I manage to hold onto that perspective, all is well with the world.
Thanks for sharing your manifesto…or perhaps I should say “our” manifesto as Christian coaches?
We all need to reaffirm our calling, make sure it is from the Lord, and keep pressing on toward the finish line.
Sure does speak to me and I’ll be blessed to share it with others… this message is applicable to everyone with just a few edits. God gifted you for a purpose as He created you. All of your life experiences have an impact and nudge us toward the steps that He has ordered for all of His to take.
Know that your impact as a coach, teacher of coaches, and marketing seed-sower have kept me and many others going for the long uphill climb! It is worth it!
You taught me to “not work so hard” and now, every time I catch myself “doing work that a client needs to do,” I smile and STOP to give thanks for your gift! I still hear those “Kim-isms” as I work to be the Christian career coach God called me to be!
Blessings as you keep doin’ HIS works…
Kim – what a well written motivational message and reminder that our negative self talk needs to be replaced by God sized dreams and goals that can only be accomplished when we place our trust in Him. Thank you!
Well-said, Craig. Let’s keep moving towards those God-sized dreams.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I see it every day: the wonderful mission He has for me. I don’t need the lights and applause – HE knows my name. I LOVE serving Him in this way.
Amen. Isn’t it wonderful to love His calling on our lives?
Well done, Kim. I’m so glad to see that I’m not the only one struggling with, “Is this what God wants me to do with my life?” So very thoughtful.
Thanks, Carl.
Thank you, Kim. Once again, exactly what I needed to read/hear right now. Thank you for your openness and vulnerability. What a blessing and an encouragement you are!
Hi Monique, And you are an encouragement as well. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Thanks for sharing, I am a novice/newbie coach and found your encouragement and authenticity which is refreshing to read! I also love how you include the GOD factor which is so important to me!
Welcome to the wonderful world of coaching, Helen. I hope you grow to love it as much as I do!
Thanks Monique for reminding me to take time to listen to Kim’s brilliance and thank you Kim for being obedient and sharing what God needs you to share. “Do it anyway” is being reminded to me a lot lately. Now I’d better commit!
“Do it anyway” and “commit” – two very powerful phrases, Laura. Thanks for the reminder.
“Yes” and WOW! This is truly beautiful. My times of struggle to keep moving forward have been many. I don’t ask “why” when the results aren’t what I’ve hoped for, but I have certainly said, “I don’t understand Lord” many times.
I do trust that all will be fulfilled in His way and in His timing. Thus, “yes” I will continue to pray, seek and fight forward.
You are such a great example of faithfulness and perseverance, Debbie. You inspire me.
Thank you…and AMEN! God’s got this…not my battle! Thanks for putting these thoughts into words and pictures…and sharing them! Blessings to you!
You are so welcome, Cindy. Thanks for passing it on!
Kim, so well said. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing what’s inside that most of us are afraid to share but all think. You were courageous putting this together and did an excellent job. You are inspirational!! Go you!!
May God bless you, Lori. Thanks for taking time to encourage me today.
EXCELLENT. Will be sharing it with other coaches… and those who are considering becoming one.
Hi Donna, Thanks so much for sharing it. My prayer is that Christian coaching will continue to grow and God will use it greatly for His name and His glory.
