Ten Things I LOVE About Being a Coach

by | 4 comments

I just sat down with my Executive Board (me, myself and I), and made a strategic decision. Due to the many, many things going on in my life right now, for the summer we (I) decided to reduce my blogging to once a week and my podcasting to once a month.

I am so thankful that God has given me a job that I can shape to meet my ever-changing needs. His grace is truly mind-boggling.

And as I was praising God for this timely gift, some of the other benefits of being a life and marketing coach came to my mind.

I’m sharing them with you so that we can rejoice together at this wonderful calling He has placed on our lives.

Ten Things I LOVE About Being a Coach

  1. I get to do what I was born to do. 🙂   Just as fish need water to live, coaching is the air I breathe.
  2. I have the privilege of working with incredible people who are living their lives “full out” for God.
  3. I am constantly learning. In other words, coaching gives me a good excuse to support my Amazon.com habit.
  4. Coaching challenges me to keep growing in my professional, personal and spiritual life.
  5. I write my own job description. I get to choose my own coaching niche and coach people around what I love.  How cool is that?
  6. Coaching principles and skills can be used in lots of different ways.  Because I am a variety-junkie, I’ve designed my job so I can coach, teach, write, blog, speak, design programs, become an amateur web-master, play with graphic design and get paid to do it.
  7. My job is portable. I don’t have to wait for “vacation days” to see the world. I can work from anywhere so I am free to travel at any time.
  8. My job is flexible. As mentioned above, I have a lot going on in my personal life this summer so I can cut back on my business building efforts and the number of clients I take right now and then just ramp it back up again in the fall.
  9. I can earn a good living while still enjoying all the benefits above.
  10. I saved the best one for last – I get to partner with the God of the universe, as He uses the power of coaching to change the world!

What are some of your favorites things about being a coach? Really, I want to know.  Please take a minute to type it in the comment box below.

LOVE your Executive Board! 🙂 We are actually contemplating the same decision. Currently blog bi-weekly…RELIGIOUSLY….but my husband thinks once a week would be a good idea. It will help with our time management, keep the ideas fresh and not overwhelm the reader. No final decision yet. Keep us posted how it goes… and enjoy your summer.

Hi Sherry, And I hope you keep me posted as well. It’s just hard to do everything and do it all well, isn’t it?

I laughed right out loud when I read the names of your Executive Board! Funny!
I so agree with all your points. The only thing I think I can add is the wonderful people we get to know from all over the world, without leaving home! Amazing!
