Better Visibility on Facebook

by | 0 comments

Facebook is definitely a powerful marketing tool, but the problem is getting noticed, isn’t it? Here’s one way to get better visibility on Facebook. Use images.

In my previous post, we talked about creating free blog images and Pinterest graphics. Today, I want to help you use them to gain greater visibility on Facebook.

If you have an image that you have used on your blog post, and you add the URL to your Facebook status, that image will usually be pulled in. Sometimes you get to choose which image to use — and sometimes you don’t.

That makes a nice status update — it shows the image and gives the title of the blog post and a few words under that. Like this:

Research has shown that status updates that contain images get clicked and shared more than status updates that don’t. So right there you’re ahead of the pack.

But what if you could increase the likelihood even more? Well, you can.

Consider that a large percentage of people viewing their Facebook feed are doing it on a smart phone… and no matter how large their screen is, your image is still pretty small.

Let’s give them a better view of your image. Check this one out:

The difference should be pretty clear. The larger image will catch more attention and be shared more.

So, how do you do it? Instead of just putting the URL of the blog post into the status update area, click on the “Add Photos/Video” option, and then choose “Upload Photos/Video” — you will be able to upload the image from your hard drive.

And then you will also be able to add a description, where you can put the link to the blog post.

So, what are you waiting for? I want to see some bigger pictures out there on Facebook!
