Got Info?

infographic

Infographics are all the rage these days. I’m sure you’ve seen them. But have you ever considered how you can make them for your own blog? Turns out, it is pretty easy.

The image to the right was created in PowerPoint. The trick is to set custom dimensions for the page size. This one is 10 inches wide by 30 inches tall. And then once it is created, just save it as an image (Save as… JPEG format).

(Have I mentioned that I love PowerPoint?)

Additionally, there are some websites that will let you create infographics. I did a Google search for “Create Infographics Online” and got a lot of options. Some are free, and some are paid. Some are both.

Now, what can you make an infographic out of? Most people think you need to have hard data. With big numbers and percentages. And of course, if you have it, use it.

But my favorite kind of infographic just shares information in a graphic format. In the fast-paced, attention challenged, instant gratification world we live in, information is consumed in sound bites, tasty morsels that are quick and easy to “get.”

And what better way to serve that up than graphically?

The infographic in this post may be a little tough to see on this page – just click on it and it will open up in a new window. Then click it again, and it will enlarge to full size. It has some good ideas for you to consider for your own infographic.

I can’t wait to see what you create with your information! Be sure to leave us a link in the comments area so we can learn from you.

Hi Amy, I’m finding PowerPoint is pretty amazing. I have another post here where I show how to use it to remove backgrounds from images. Who knew??

I’m glad you’ve found the blog, and hope you visit often. I’m actually not a coach – I’m a Virtual Assistant, and I do a lot of Kim’s techy stuff for her. It is my privilege to be able to also blog for her and those who follow her.
