Creating An Effective Newsletter

NewsletterEvery month I set an entire half day or more aside to work on my monthly newsletter. Why? Because my prospects need to hear from me regularly or they will forget me. And for that newsletter to be effective, it can’t be just a generic article, I want to send one that potential clients will read, act on, and pass on.

To increase the effectiveness of your newsletter this month, make sure that you include these four elements.

  • Your Personality – People choose a coach with whom they feel a personal connection. While you don’t want the entire newsletter to be about you, be sure to add some personal details that will further the relationship you have with your readers.
  • Your Expertise – Write your feature article about an issues that you work with clients on in the coaching relationship. This will encourage prospects to see how you will be able to help them.
  • Your Point – Have one ‘theme’ per issue.  Writing too many short articles and tips on a variety of subjects confuses the reader and they may not see a specific way that you may be able to help them.
  • Your Call to Action – Include one opportunity for the reader to take advantage of that will move them further along in your marketing cycle. For example, they could sign up for a webinar, a group, a complimentary session, or take a brief assessment on your website.

What things do you like most in the newsletters that you receive?
