Not an Expert? Not a Problem.

by | 8 comments

We are a culture of specialists. In our shrinking global community, even the remote African tribesman has access to world-class information without leaving his hut.

So coaches inevitably ask, “What if I’m not an expert?” or “How can I compete with the established experts who are already in my niche?”

Here’s the good news. You don’t have to. Why? Because you are also an expert. Sure, you may not have the same education or degree that others have, but you bring something to the table that they never will.

You bring your own unique blend of strengths, spiritual gifts, life experiences and more. These equip and qualify you to add value that no one else can.

The question isn’t, are you an expert? The question is, what kind of expert are you?

Use the infographic below to determine your unique blend of expertise, then confidently step out into the world and make the contribution that God created you to make.

This is great! I found that I am actually more than one. Innovator, Explorer, Motivator and do most of this through Story Telling.

      Hi Mary Lou,

That doesn’t surprise me – you are a talented lady :). Thanks for sharing your gifts with me and with the world.

I already know that I am a motivator, but had never considered it to be my area of expertise. I love the description, it is empowering. I think we all may dabble in more than one area, but I am learning to embrace my greatest strength. Thanks for the encouragement and ongoing education!!!

Hi BJ – I agree. I think we’re probably all gifted in several of these areas, and it’s fun to think about the different proportions God has sprinkled in each individual so that they can serve exactly who He has called them to serve.

I’m looking forward to learning more about how God uses your expertise in motivator in the months to come.

Thank you for sharing this Kim! I was just sitting here thinking, “I’m not an expert” and then came across your blog. I find that several of them fit me but my strongest is a motivator! I feel empowered!

Thanks for sharing about the timing of this post for you, Kristy. Don’t you just love when God does that?

Whoa… It seems like I dabble in several of these camps but definitely an explorer, motivator and storyteller. Thanks for providing another opportunity to see the evidence of our Father’s grace and love displayed through His gifts all for the purpose of revealing Jesus to our world.

Explorer, Motivator and Storyteller – sounds like a great combination to help you spread the love of our Lord! So glad you shared…
