Maximize Your Website’s Impact with iContact

A new visitor lands on your website, and she likes what she sees. Hmmm… you may be the just the coach she’s been looking for.

Or not. She decides to mull it over and meanwhile clicks over to another site.

A week later she decides to check out your website again. Now where was it? And what was your name? It seems like it had a blue header at the top. Or was it orange?

Unfortunately, your busy prospect can’t find you, gets distracted, and never thinks about you again.

This scenario plays out across the Internet hundreds of times every day. So, how can you stop it from happening to you?

There’s only one way. That’s right, just one.

You need to move the responsibility for follow-up out of your prospects hands and into your own. And the way to do that is for your visitor to opt-in to your newsletter list.

Simply offer something they desire (a downloadable ebook, tip sheet, Top 10 List, etc.) and a free subscription to your newsletter in exchange for their name and email address and then you have permission to stay in touch with them.

This way, even if your prospect forgets to bookmark your website or jot down your name, it’s no big deal. At least once a month, you’ll remind them who you are when you send out your regular value-laden newsletter.

And the best news of all is that having your own newsletter is cheaper and easier than you would think.

In fact, you can start your own quality newsletter with a free trial. How?

iContact

iContactiContact offers all the features that you need as a coach starting out with your newsletter. In fact, iContact is the service that I use.

There are a couple of features that make it the best choice over its nearest competitors, Constant Contact and MailChimp. For me, they are deal-breakers.

Customizable Email Lists

First, you can have as many lists as you want, and you can send an email to any or all of them. You can also customize a nice welcome email that goes out immediately when someone signs up to a particular list – and every list can have a different welcome email (or you can reuse or modify one from another list).

The other feature about the lists that I like is that you can exclude lists from an email. For example, say you send an email to everybody asking them to sign up for a webinar. And some people sign up… When you send a follow-up email reminding them to sign up, you don’t want to bother the ones that have already signed up, so you can exclude that list when you send to “everybody.”

Autoresponders

The second feature that is very important to me is the ability to create an autoresponder series (as many as you want, actually). These can be used for eCourses, for example – either paid or free.

If you already have an email service you are using but may have outgrown, it is also very easy to export your lists from that other service and import them into iContact.

You can begin with a free trial, or jump right in. And if you purchase through my link, we both win… When you click the link below it will take you to a registration page. Fill out your information and then once you receive and click the link in the confirmation email, you will have a fully-functioning free account for 30 days. If you decide to upgrade to a paid account, you’ll receive a $50 credit and I’ll receive a gift card. Click the link below to see how it works.

Me, too. It’s great to be able to pick up the phone and call anytime I have a question or I get stuck.
