There Are No Secrets to Success – Marketing Game ~ Day 1

by | 126 comments

Welcome to Day 1 of the 5-Minute Marketing Game.  I’m so glad you are here and are investing in growing your coaching business.  (If you haven’t signed up yet, click here.  Once you sign up you’ll receive everything you need to play the game.)

There Are No Secrets to Success
Coaching is incredibly powerful, and I firmly believe that it is one of the key tools that God is using in this generation to help people live joyful, intentional and purposeful lives. Thank you for being a part of that movement!

If God has called you to be a Christian who is a coach, you can be sure that He will bless you and use you for His glory. You can also be sure that He is asking you to be a part of making that happen. As James 2:20 says, faith without works is useless.

I’m praying that this 5-mInute Marketing Game will be instrumental in your successfully using coaching to powerfully impact lives.

    I actually started my actions yesterday. I printed out and reviewed the materials and shared your marketing game with my fellow Christian Coach Institute alumni Facebook page. Also spent time today reviewing your website for marketing ideas. Need to fill a small group coaching program that starts end of January, so looking forward to working on this every day! More details on my program at http://www.myjourneycoach.com. Thx!

    I began my marketing this weekend and contacted a number of Women’s Ministry directors in my denomination to let them know who I am, what I do and how I’d love to share my heart with their women. I am looking forward to hearing back from them and to see what doors God will open as a result. I’ve also been working on my Strategic Speech for a speaking engagement I have coming up soon. Thanks for this opportunity Kim–I’m so excited to see what God will do this year, my year of “Breakthrough!”

    I am sharing graphics and links to a virtual group I am offering. I shared a Facebook event invite that my church did on Facebook to invite people to when I speak there next week. I invited people to the event. This is along with connecting with others on SM and continuing to develop the materials for the virtual group.

    Yesterday (Sunday) I received an ‘out of the blue’ invitation to be a keynote speaker in mid-February for a local church women’s special night out, with a full meal served by the men. Today I engaged with the pastor’s wife on a phone call to brainstorm a theme, flesh out speaker details, and even concluded with some table deco ideas…she got off the phone with her brain going a mile a minute! And I know what my part is so I can begin preparing.

    Yesterday I proposed a joint venture with someone who has a fantastic “following” and is very supportive of my coaching work. She said YES (woohoo!!), so today I worked on brainstorming content, names, strategy etc. with my copy writer and my “tech guy” so we could move this campaign along a quickly as possible.

    Also, I met with a new contact who might turn into a good, strategic alliance. We shall see…

    I’m the Social Media & Marketing Manager for my husband’s coaching business along with working full time as the Business Manager for a local nonprofit. We both joined the game and will be working on separate marketing tasks for his coaching business. Thanks for the extra motivation to take some action on things in the pipeline.

    Today’s 5 minute task was to reach out to a Christian wedding planner blogger who recently posted on a FB blogging group I’m in that she’s interested in collaboration. We’re offering to guest post and provide a giveaway of the audio version of my husband’s pre-marital coaching sessions. Hopefully this will provide some new exposure for his coaching services for engaged couples.

    Kim, I reviewed a blog post to make sure it met all the criteria you suggest:
    * Good picture
    * < 3-4 sentences per paragraph
    * Header and subheaders
    * Ended with question/CTA

    I was pleased to see how well my posts conform to your recommendations.
    This is going to be a really fun game. I have nice energy around it already!

    I thought I posted but didn’t see it so here goes again…first THANK YOU KIM for doing this! This gentle nudge to do more or do that which we have procrastinated on is wonderful! I actually added a page to my current website by added another ministry offering of consulting work that I do. I purchased a domain name for this new venture and linked that domain name to this page on my current website! This might be clear as mud but I am very excited! I need to work more on getting some recommendations from places which have already used me in this way to beef up that page but at least it is up and running! Thank you!

They are now hanging on a big post-it on my office wall across from my desk. I also took a leap of faith regarding my BHAG for this year and emailed another (well known and famous in her own niche) coach about collaborating her specialty (fitness) with my specialty (ADD).

    There is a secret – it’s YOU! You make it very “bite-sizeable.” And we love you for that.

    Hey Kim, this has been a great first day (except iTunes won’t let me post a comment on your podcast 🙁

    Today, I updated my coaching page, I blocked out time on my calendar during the week to write. Took 15 minutes but worth it.

    All in!!

    I created 5 new blog post titles and began the writing process. I also updated my bio.

      Great job. For me, once I have the title the writing comes a lot faster.
